NCHERM: The National Center for Higher Education Risk Management, Ltd.
NCHERM (pronounced EN-KERM) is a law and consulting firm headquarted in Malvern, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia. Founded in 2000, NCHERM's twenty-one consultants and attorneys serve thirty colleges and universities as outside legal counsel, and have served in a consulting capacity to 2,200 colleges and universities on best practices for campus health and safety. NCHERM is a Pennsylvania not-for-profit corporation.

School and College Organization for Prevention EducatorsSCOPE is a membership association for school and college prevention educators addressing prevention holistically across many areas of health and risk. With 150 active members, SCOPE was founded in 2011 based on a donation from NCHERM and an anonymous family. It is an independent, PA not-for-profit association based in Hatfield, PA. |
National Behavioral Intervention Team AssociationNaBITA is a membership association for school and college behavioral intervention and threat assessment team members. With 1,000 active members, NaBITA was founded in 2009 with a seed grant from NCHERM. In 2011, it became an independent, PA not-for-profit association. NaBITA is based in Malvern, PA. |
Behavioral Mental Health Concerns TeamThe BMHCT is a practice group wholly owned by NCHERM. The BMHCT is staffed by four campus mental health professionals and a mental health law expert, and is available for case consultation to college and university behavioral intervention and threat assessment teams. The BMHCT provides violence risk assessments in challenging cases and in cases where local resources are unavailable or cannot offer the level of specialized assessment available from the experts on the BMHCT. |
NCHERM Conflict ResolutionNCHERM-CR is a new practice group launched by NCHERM in 2012 as an autonomous subdivision with its own staff and Chair. Just as NCHERM provides consultation on student conduct best practices throughout the country, NCHERM-CR is tasked with defining and offering consultation to higher education on the best practices for campus mediation, conflict resolution, restorative justice and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Student Affairs eNewsSAeN is a wholly owned subsidiary of NCHERM. Managed by Brian Van Brunt, Ed.D., SAeN is the leading news resource for what is happening in the field of student affairs. SAeN maintains a website dedicated to student affairs news, content and events so that you can stay current and ahead of trends in the field. SAeN provides an email of student affairs-related news to over 600 subscribers each week. |
Title IX Expert WitnessTitle IX Expert Witness is a website run under the auspices of NCHERM to promote the services of NCHERM consultants as expert witnesses in litigation affecting schools and colleges. NCHERM has an active expert witness practice in cases involving Title IX, sexual harassment and misconduct, hazing, student injury, school and campus safety and security and student discipline.
